Don't Forget Bosses Day, Monday October 16th!

Bosses Day is October 16th!

When is Bosses Day? Bosses Day always falls on October 16th. This year it falls on a Monday. National Boss Day offers employees an opportunity to recognize those in supervisory positions. The official name of the holiday is “National Boss Day,” but it is commonly referred to as “Boss’s Day” or “Bosses Day”.

Here are some tips on choosing a gift for your boss.

Should I send flowers to my boss for Bosses Day? Flowers are a great choice for Bosses Day! A large vase or basket of fresh flowers can bring color and style to an otherwise dull office setting. You can send flowers on your own or as a group. Add a message to the flower arrangement saying “Happy Bosses Day!”.

What else can I send for Bosses Day? Your local florist can provide many gift options for Bosses Day! A Dish Garden or Plant for their desk would be an appreciated gift. You may also consider a Gourmet Gift Basket of goodies for your Boss. Balloons can be added for a special touch to flowers, plants and gift baskets. Your local florist can deliver your gift along with your message.

Where did Bosses Day come from? National Boss Day was started in 1958 when Patricia Bays Haroski, then an employee at State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Ill., registered the holiday with the Chamber of Commerce of the United States. She designated October 16 as the special day because it was her father’s birthday. Ms. Haroski’s purpose was to designate a day to show appreciation for her boss and other bosses. She also hoped to improve the relationship between employees and supervisors. She believed young employees often do not realize the challenges bosses face in running a business.

Remember, to get the best value, order directly from the florist that will be designing & delivering your gift. No middleman, no extra fees!
